Course Objectives:
• Tooth Morphology
• Various restorative dental materials, including bases, liners,
composites, flowable composites and amalgam
• Selection and placement of rubber dam clamps, rubber dams,
matrices, wedges
• Proper tooth contacts
• Placement of bases and liners, anterior and posterior composite
restorations, amalgam restorations and temporary filling materials
• Finishing and polishing techniques for both composite and
amalgam restorations

Kentucky Dental Academy’s Dental Assistant program will prepare you for a successful career as a dental assistant. Dental Assistants perform a variety of jobs, including patient care, office management and lab duties. Upon completion of the program, you will be awarded a Certificate in Dental Assisting. All KDA’s graduates are eligible to attend the Kentucky Dental Academy’s Expanded Duties Dental Assisting (EDDA) course.
In addition to the basic coursework for dental assistants, KDA also provides:
• Kentucky certification in Radiology Safety and Technique • Hands-on
lab experience at an actual dentist's office
• Instruction from dentists and dental assistants
• Training in 4 handed dentistry KDA's Dental Assistant program is a
10-week course, eight classroom hours per week for a total of eighty
(80) classroom hours.
